Biography

Verity Schramm has lived in Colorado for the last 10 years, first in Evergreen and now in Littleton.  She has been interested in city water cycles (the toilet and tap kind) since a young child, after visiting the Japanese Gardens at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant and actually finding the smell interesting.  She received a degree in economics in college, and began working for an economic development firm in Los Angeles where a lot of her energy was focused on water rights, stormwater runoff and reclamation efforts.  During her time there she was able to attend multiple water tours including the Metropolitan Water District's multi day Rolling College of Water Knowledge driving across two states. While pursuing a masters in teaching, she took a graduate level elective course on wastewater management.  She did pivot into teaching for eight years and more recently has been raising her family of three boys (17, 13 and 4 years) with her husband, Byron.  When she received notice about openings on the RWSD Board of Directors, she jumped at the opportunity to once again be a part of the complex and fascinating world of getting source water to our faucets and back again.
